When web crawling to gather HTML documents for indexing, Verity Spider looks for the date the document was last modified, in the form of a field named Last-Modified.

Opera and Explorer 4 don't take time zones and daylight saving time into account and give a last Modified date of (in the case of this page) two hours too early.
